TEAM OF THE WEEK

Team of the Week

Gardeners Arms FC

What an end to the season!

With Blobby in pole position to take it all they needed was a win tonight to practically seal it, but after losing to Galacticos it meant Galacticos were then in pole position, with Notinherforest then needing to beat Gardener’s Arms by 3 or more goals would mean they would nick it and The Gardeners needing only a draw to ensure they took the title home after the earlier result.

So as you just read what a Super Sunday this was…

Gardener’s Arms FC take the award after they put in a good performance tonight and won the title in their first season with some excellent performances along the way.

The star of the night was Robbie CARTER who banged in all his teams goals with some great strikes for his hat trick!

Some good saves from stand in keeper Nick MASSA as well!

Well done to all the lads, Paddy SHEEHY, Harry WRIGHT, Conor ADAIR, Ollie JONES, Jack MILLER, Alex POPE, Bobby NORTH and Ash SOMERS.

Team of the Week

Lost Men

The award this week goes to Lost Men who put in a solid performance against a strong Cardinals side and capitalised on a couple of rare mistakes along the way.

The whole team were excellent but the all important goals coming from Ryan FRANKLIN and two from Mike DIEBELIUS who scored one of the best goals of the night as well with an absolute screamer into the top right bin. The dip on it was naughty and left the keeper with no chance.

Meanwhile in goal for Lost Men was Joe HINDMARSH who was in great form and made a string of class saves to keep a well deserved clean sheet, he also made some great saves in his teams game which took place after this one and even though his side didn’t come out with the win he made one save in particular which was the best of the night.

This win took Lost Men to top of the table after other results went their way, and at the moment looks like a 3 horse race for the title!

Team of the Week

TG FC

The award this week goes to TG FC who kept up their impressive 100% record with their 5th win our of 5 games.

Jam ALLEN, Scott HILL and Dan MARINO got the goals, meanwhile Dan MARINO also played half in goal keeping a clean sheet as well as Bailee SHIELS playing the other half and doing the same!
All in all another excellent team performance from Top Golf FC and they look unstoppable this season.

Can anyone beat them this season??

Team of the Week

Galacticos

The award on this Super Sunday goes to Galacticos who were excellent tonight against the league leaders.

Once again captain fantastic Will OSMOND ran the show and banged home two of his sides 4 goals.

Sammy GREGORY and Matt BOYCE scored a goal each as well as Mark DIXON making some good saves in goal.

SHARKY put in a solid performance at the back as well to ensure a huge win for Galacticos going into the last week of the season

Team of the Week

Jake Somers & AFC Cardinals

The award this week is shared between a stand out individual performance and a outstanding team performance.

First up Jake SOMERS.
Jake SOMERS put in an excellent energetic shift for ECC tonight and scored an absolute screamer for his side.
With skipper George TYLER also having a great game even though their side lost, Jake SOMERS goal meant he couldn’t go without being mentioned.
Well done Jake.

AFC Cardinals were majestic tonight in their 6-1 win over a good Valley Hill FC side.
With Andrew JONES AND Toby HALL scoring two each, James LADLOW and skipper Neil DIXON also scoring one each to round up the scoring.

With Thomas LYALL blasting multiple efforts over the bar and out the venue it could potentially have been more, however defensively Mark DIXON was solid in goal first half while Matthew HULL made a string of good saves second half and only conceded when Neil DIXON subbed himself off.

So it means the DIXON’s technically kept a clean sheet so well done to them.
But a very good win for Cardinals keeps them as outsiders for the Premiership title!

Team of the Week

Mad Mark

The award this week goes to Mad Mark, as even though they were missing two influential players they won emphatically in a big win which opened up the league standings. With Mark DIXON in great form tonight it was always going to be difficult for Le Gards. DIXON kept a clean sheet with a number of excellent saves, meanwhile Jack ROBERTSON put in a great shift. Paul BRETT was in particularly good form scoring two with some great strikes, meanwhile Nick MASSA scored two, And Reiss TISSON and James LADLOW scored one each to complete the scoring for the Madmen. The last few weeks of the current league campaign have now become very interesting with 5 teams still in with a chance of taking the title home

Also a shout out to Blobby FC skipper Johny HOPWOOD as he had a very depleted team tonight and even though his side lost, HOPWOOD was unreal, making some world class saves as well as coming out and showing some neat touches!

Team of the Week

Inter Bread & Pop-City

The award is shared this week, the first mention goes to Inter Bread who were superb in their 1-0 win against the early favourites tonight, Joe HINDMARSH made a string of quality saves for his side including a penalty save, however a goal from skipper Reiss TISSON helped Inter to all three points as well as their best start to a season in some time.

Gio CATTINI in goal for Inter also made some world class saves to keep a clean sheet which was the first time Inter have ever kept two clean sheets in a row after Jonathan HOPWOOD kept one the week before.

So well done to all the Inter lads and on their current run of form they look to be on course to get promoted, but it is still early doors and a lot to play for.

POP-CITY were in scintillating form tonight, even though they were missing a few regulars they won 4-0 in a proper team performance with 4 different goalscorers.

Callum BRAZIER, Danny MARTIN, Adam HOOPER and Grant OSBORN scoring the all important goals with some excellent finishing.

Jonathan HOPWOOD made some good saves to keep a well earned clean sheet, meanwhile Nick MASSA put in a shift but the star of the show was Chris WALLING who was unreal, put in a performance that had players and spectators left in awe at what a player he can be on his day.

A much needed win for Pop-City and once again it looks like it will be a very entertaining season!

Team of the Week

Le Gards

The award this week goes to Le Gards who were excellent once again and will be hard to stop from winning this division on this form.

Paddy SHEEHY and Ash SOMERS popped in a goal each to ensure their side took all three points, however Dave POPE was the standout as he was pulling the strings from midfield!

With three games to go there is all to play for still…

Team of the Week

TG FC

The award this week goes to TG FC who put in an excellent shift to beat a very good Bayer side!

Jam ALLEN and Bailee SHIELS scored a goal each for Top Golf FC meanwhile Scott HILL and Harry WATT were outstanding in defence.

This win has topped off a great start to the season for TG who will now be hoping they can continue on this momentum and get promoted!

Team of the Week

Jed EVA (ECC UNITED)

The award this week goes to Jed EVA who was superb for ECC as they started off the new campaign with a win and a clean sheet!

EVA’s energetic display meant he kept his side flowing forward and both his goals were absolute pings!

George TYLER put in a shift even carrying an injury so deserves a mention also!

Great start for ECC!
