Team of the Week

Mick’s Minions

The award at Loughton this Thursday goes to Mick’s Minions who got their first win and what a comeback!

These lads have been getting better and better every week and tonight they showed determination and self belief as they gave away two penalties to go 2 down.

With the game looking like it would end in a draw a superb pass from Tommy HARRISON resulted in his side going on the attack with Toby HAMID scoring a controversial winner to take the three points!

Was it a slide, was it a stretch? Seems the opinion is split but nevertheless a superb reaction after going 2 down and a deserved three points after an impressive improvement over the course of the season.

Team of the Week

Joe Lilly & Wallads

What a finish to the Loughton Tuesday Championship season it was tonight, Wallads and FRFC went into this week knowing three points was needed as well as goal difference.

FRFC played the game before and won 9-1, and most would have thought that scoreline would of been enough to snatch the title from Wallads, and for much of the Wallads game it looked like that would be the case against resilient opposition, but then the Wallads and in particular Joe LILLY turned it on producing some mesmerising football and ended up winning 11-0 scoring 7 goals himself to ensure his side take the Championship title! What a finish!

Joe LILLY was the star of the show while skipper Kailen ELMOUMNI got a hat trick with some superbly taken strikes and a quality all round display while Sam FLYNN got one.

Sam KRUEGER made some good saves to keep a deserved clean sheet.
