Stranger Wings & Repton Park – LOUGHTON THURSDAYS – PREM REVIEW

First game back from lockdown 2.0 and straight down to business!

Last game of the current season and what an end to the season it was, two league titles up for grabs as well as promotion and relegation.

First up and Stranger Wings had to win today to guarantee the title after a superb season. However they were facing off against a Repton Park side who needed to win to stand any chance of beating relegation!

This one didn’t disappoint and Repton Park won 4-1 with a superb performance. With current league champions, Nuffield FC losing in the game before this meant Nuffield were relegated after a disappointing season for them. But this didn’t mean Repton were safe yet, with Nitto Ballers in action in the game after against Joga Bonito.

Joga Bonito needed to win by a 4 goal margin to snatch the title, and against a tough Nitto side who needed to win the game to ensure they stay up it meant this wasn’t going to be easy! Joga ended up winning 3-2 which meant Nitto Ballers got relegated and Repton Park had pulled off an unbelievable last day escape climbing off the bottom of the table to finish 4th, just outside the bottom two! One of, if not the best relegation escape

It also in turn meant that Stranger Wings bagged their first title on goal difference!

So all in all a thrilling end to the season in the Prem with Joga Bonito finishing in second place and YK in third.

YK have been impressive in their debut season so I’m sure we can expect them to mount a serious title charge in the new season.

Well done to all the Stranger Wings lads: Eral CHOLI, Jack BELL, Josh WINTLE, George THOMAS, Jason MATTHEWS, Kya MELLISH, James REFALO, Logan SIMMONDS & Harry STEWART

Different gravy from the lad!
